Changing Chat Text Colouring

Postby KranDeLoy » Mon Jan 31, 2011 4:28 pm

I did a quick search and it seems people aren't talking about this much... Was only able to find three returns for +chat +text +color

So yeah, am I just missing something like you can change the color of the in game chat box background or is it just set that way with Tan one Light Tan and Light Green on Light Tan. It's super difficult to read the 3rd and 4th party memeber's text. I find I always have to lean in on my screen to read it.

So would it be possible to either change those colors to strait Green color (not dark, just not light) and Tan to a Brown (again not dark, just not so light colored). It seems that it would be more difficult to code in a method to change the chat background color for each person, thus making it a bit of an extravagance that would be nice, but in the end just fluff. I'd really appreciate the first option (just change the default colors to slightly darker colors, plskthnx)

You're right, sorry I didn't think about that.

I'm using Gilbertus' client which he said was only a modified version of the original so I had assumed that Gilbertus only modified the bit he listed under features and nothing about the chat system.

Features
  • Resizeable client window (maximize is best).
  • Night-vision (toggle by CTRL+n) - as in Pacho's.
  • X-ray (toggle by CTRL+x) - walls, trees, houses and other objects shown only as outline so you can see though them.
  • Mapper - saving minimaps to disk. Included html file (using Google Maps).
  • Multiple icon sets (toggle by Alt+[0-9]) - NEW.
  • Hide objects (toggle by CTRL+h) - choose what to hide on last tab in options window - require hh-update.zip (or source) - NEW.

You could try Ender's client, a recent update had this change:

True, tho I will remain hopeful that the coloring will be adjusted towards a easier to read hue sometime soon.. 'ish...
Will probably look into trying to adjust it myself. If I find a way to do it despite my ignorance I'll post it in the Gilbertus' thread and hope he adds it to his stuff.

Thanks..
