Minehole security

Mineholes should be a semi-authority object if built within a village's boundaries. (only chieftain or lawspeaker can place the building site)

or

Mineholes should have a "drying" cooldown the same as a ram.

I searched for both of these and haven't seen either suggested yet.

Walls can be built in caves, but not flush against the sides of the cave. (walls do work flush in mined sections.) A claim alone doesn't stop raiders and you can't completely "wall" your section of the underground off. Someone can still dig into the parts that aren't walled.

For the first idea, the same reason why it wouldn't be good to give everyone in your village the ability to build crossroads or take signs from them. For the second, because it's a non-ram method of crossing a brick wall.

Only if the other side of the brickwall has a minehole too. And if they do they should have the ladder brickwalled.

We need something that can shift authority between z levels. Why have to build a separate village for every level?

Dont keep valuables in the mine, seal the surface minehole off with a wall.
Problem solved.
