The Sea.

Noticing the vast amount of people who mentioned their desire for large bodies of water, this idea occurred to me. (Some other people and I might have thought of this before, if so, I forgot.)

Have a entire direction sprouting off from the RoB devoted only to water. In which there would be islands, isles, and entire continents. Like so: (Note that some of these features are just wishful thinking on my part)

You could probably have the entire map like that, but, eh. Admittedly, you shouldn't find any land in that water for quite a distance, but I needed to put some islands in, to demonstrate.

My sister suggested that some resources should only be found out in the sea, maybe tropical stuff on tropical islands. That would encourage trade vessels, which would be awesome. I would definitely like to see cliff covered rocky islands, to build giant stone fortresses on.

Clarification: The main gist of this suggestion is to have an entire cardinal direction devoted to generating endless sea, with islands and such.

For this to work, we need four things:
Rum
Wood
Cloth
A sense of Adventure

3 of which are already implemented ;D
So J&L, make rum please. And Vodka.

Also, various kinds of ships with different sizes/properties (some faster, some with ship-to-ship boarding capabilities, bigger holds, etc)

Eh, that would kinda require the need to have specialized characters and rare resources though.

Color that square entirely green and I think we have a good starting location.

The sea shouldn't be so close to the RoB, newbies might drown in an attempt to cross it.

Also would make the whole infinite map idea a little more interesting, seeing how it might actually take a ship days to cross the ocean, and even more time to actually find any islands or other continents.

.... LEVIATHAN?

Edit: It would also require the building of a dock for larger ships, unless you intend to just..push it out into the water.
Maybe have the building materials for a large cargo ship be something like...
800 Wooden Blocks, 300 Boards, X amount of metal(Anchor, probably some other objects), Y amount of a cloth, Z amount of rope.
The way I envision it, the ship would probably be a 4x8 square sprite, if just docked, it can be boarded from a dock or land if there's a ramp. And the cargo hold could be entered, maybe even having multiple rooms(with a lock option for passengers).

So in order for a ship to even be built, there would probably have to be quite a bit of team work.

..Whaling anyone?
An alternative way to destroying the environment, I think it'll be a nice break from the deforestation we've done in this map.

Think about it, whale oil, blubber, whale meat, whale bones.

So many uses for all of that.

We also need fjords (a lot of them) and impassible mountains.
