More Leather Equipment and Weapons

Postby Allik » Sun Feb 20, 2011 10:43 pm

This is A list of items I compiled that I feel would be a great contribution to the game, I didn't do much searching for similar posts because of the amount of ideas but I apologize for any duplicates.

1. Ranger Gloves: 2 Leather, 1 Hardened Leather, 1 Silk cloth (3L)
@ q10 - 10/10 Armor
+5 Marksmanship
+5 Stealth

@ q40 - 20/20 Armor
+10 Marksmanship
+10 Stealth

@ q90 - 30/30 Armor* Edited
+15 Marksmanship
+15 Stealth

You got Ranger boots, pants, shirt, cloak, Why not gloves? With the newer addition of metal gloves, It seems like it would
be a good time to implement a leather based armor glove. I decided this needed Stealth, and Marksmanship because
Ranger -> Bow (Gloves easier to grip) also, Gloves -> in theory "no fingerprints" obviously this "Age" there wasn't such a
thing but it makes sense to a point...

2. Battle Axe: 1 Steel, 2 Hide Straps, 1 Block of wood (4L/R)
400 Base Damage

Since I started playing I have always wanted another type of axe that would actually do damage but not take up both hands.
I considered stating 2 Steel for this recipe, but there has to be some incentive to make this over a Soldier's Sword, not
only that but for combat, Axe moves require more initiative than Sword moves, Allowing the more initiative intensive weapon
require less to make.

3. Heavy Quiver: 3 Hardened Leather, 1 Hide strap (6R)
Holds 60 Arrows/Bolts
-3 Agility

For the more resource available players, this quiver gives you more arrows for longer hunting trips, or longer raids. I
felt the agility decrease was necessary since the bigger the item, the more it weighs on you. And it's also a good excuse
to maximize on using hide straps specifically for items.

4. Cutthroat Leggings: 5 Hardened leather (7R)
@ q10 - 50/50
+2 Unarmed Combat
+4 Melee Combat
+1 Agility
+3 Stealth

@ q40 - 100/100
+4 Unarmed Combat
+8 Melee Combat
+2 Agility
+6 Stealth

@ q90 - 150/150
+6 Unarmed Combat
+12 Melee Combat
+3 Agility
+9 Stealth

Considering there is only one type of armor for the Legs slot this seemed like a good start to broaden that category.
I didn't know what to put for the stats to make it unique so I based it off of the chest piece.

5. Crossbow: 1 Block of Wood, 2 Boards, 1 String, 1 Steel Bar (4L+4R)
*Must use "Metal Bolt"
@ q10 - 450 Damage

I wasn't sure where to place this on the spectrum considering the amount of Marksmanship Required for A Ranger Bow already,
but I figured having a higher end ranged weapon is far overdue (For example with steel armor you can totally negate a bow).
I was thinking x9 because that would require a reasonable amount of marksmanship in comparison to the Ranger Bow.

5a. Metal Bolt: 1 Stick, 1 Iron, Bronze or Steel Nugget.
Bronze Bolt - 10 Damage
Iron Bolt - 25 Damage
Steel Bolt - 50 Damage

6. Overall's: 5 Linen, 2 Blueberries (7L)
@ q10 - +5 Farming
@ q40 - +10 Farming
@ q90 - +15 Farming

Not only is this a cosmetic genius for farmers abroad, and although the farming stats aren't necessary, It only made sense
to have overall's add farming, and maybe tractor fixing when that gets implemented... hehe :)

*Keep in mind these are all outlines, and rough suggestions as far as materials required, and stat bonuses are concerned.
*I used other items that are already in the game as an outline for these stats.. (ex. Cutthroat Cuirass)

All fairly reasonable, but I think the crossbow is a bit OP. Also, gloves should be 30/30 at q90 ;)

Alot of these are actually pretty good. Only thing I wouldn't want added is the crossbow and bolts, unless of course J&L added metal tipped arrows then I would be alright with it . All in all +1, OP

Already mentioned this to the OP in chat, but not a fan of the metal bolt restriction.

Bow ammo should be interchangable, quivers are annoying to fill. Imagine someone picking up a quiver partially filled with the wrong ammo, how stupid would that be.

Metal arrows would be a fine addition

Ok, so it is essentially the Soldier's Sword, but instead of 2 steel and a woodblock it requires 1 steel, 2 hide straps, and 1 woodblock to craft. Considering that it takes more IP to use axe attacks and they have longer cooldowns, this weapon is still retarded and you may as well spend an extra piece of steel on a Soldier's Sword. One measly piece of steel isn't worth dying because it takes you twice as long to launch an attack as your opponent.

I approve, although I think the axe should take Wrought Iron instead of steel; swords should remain the top weapons, but this allows a metal axe to be a lot more common and more meaningful for warfare, as it ought to be.
