Would be nice to have wooden signs for plots for instance. Like the sort you have in Minecraft.

We already have runestones, why would we need wooden signs?

Because runes destroy big rocks. And after you've carved something on them, you can't change it.

boulders are everywhere. hell i have like 10 blank runestones just laying around cuz the rocks were in my way. and cellar stones are a dime a dozen. wooden signs not needed.

Not actively detrimental =/= beneficial in any way. You weren't even suggesting unliftable runestones, just runestones from another material. At most they'd be an item in the build menu that never gets used.
