Hiding things under boughs

I think it would be really neat if you could hide things such as boats and baskets under a pile of boughs. And anyone looking to take your things should have a certain per*exp to see what you've hidden in the world.

I'm glad I've got positive feedback! Hopefully it will become a part of the game... I think there should be a lot more in the way of player interaction, elements like this would really make things pretty interesting.

Great idea! Do want.

But... how to do this? I thought something like this:
OOO
OIIO
OOO

O = small pile of boughs, 10 or so.
II = basket for exsample.

Your brains hurt? Lets me try to explain;
You box the "object to be hidden" with small bought piles, when the box is uniform/united it would become big pile. :D

would be great, but would you also need the the amount of perc*exp to see your own cache, if this would be the rule applied could you use cartography skill to plot a "treasure map"

(Pwnt by Jackard). A good way for noobs to hide their important objects, but still not something that makes people dump claims, since people dont leave scents when they take them.

You'd really have to be a dumbfuck if you couldn't remember where you put your chest on your claim.

yes i realise this, but if there is a minimal perc*exp to reach before you see hidden items would it not be more game logical to have to aquire the same perc*exp to see your own once youve hidden it.
unless you use a different system which pits say your stealth at the time of burial against the treasure hunters (perc+exp)/2. although there might be a better mathmatical system that could be used.

just an afterthought, could the time that an object remain's hidden also contribute to how much perc*exp the other dude needs on the basis that a freshly hidden item is always easier to see than one that has been around for a month.

I was thinking, whichever character hides an item, can always see said item. And I was thinking it would play out like this:

Adventure>hide object

And then you'd click the object, and you can click boughs and place them in a building queue window. Instead of it saying "build" it will say "hide". And some things will need more boughs to hide it, i.e. three boughs for a wicker basket, and twenty for a boat.

And the treasure map idea sounds great! That is definitely what I'm talking about, in terms of player interaction!!

Think of maybe rare rocks that, when you chip stone from them, you obtain some raw metal. I feel like this would be something one would keep on a map, and it would also be a nice way to allow more players access to metals, albeit raw and low quality metals. Maybe players could also hollow out trees and hide small things in them. Perhaps one could booby-trap containers too, to get back at thieves passive-aggressively.
