So I figure the main idea behind W5 is to explore in order to find anthills and berries and whatnot to raise intelligence and pick up queens to study... so why don't we get LP for exploring? The world is split up into squares, so whenever we enter a new one we should get LP for entering that square and thus 'exploring' it. Higher exploration skill gets you more LP maybe? Perhaps W5 was really just a way to make your character more meaningful - it takes much longer to level up now than in W4, but as far as I can see LP from exploring both makes sense realistically (you gain LP from seeing new objects but not seeing new areas?) and doesn't really have any downsides. You can't grief anyone off of exploration... I have no idea what Jorb or Loftar would have in mind for balancing this kind of an LP source and I won't try to make any suggestions there, but either way I feel it's at least somewhat of a decent way to get the forums to calm down a little about W4.
