Perhaps bring number of fish per node back up past only finding two or three fish before having to move on? Unless this is totally what you want, it would feel better if you (Jorb and Loftar) either made a few more fish per spot (ten maybe?) or made fishing spots spawn more often, it feels like you can look for hours and never find fish, then when you do find a fishing spot it feels like there are few actual fish there.

That's because the fishing spots are being drained by overuse. Once people are able to rely on agriculture again (crops take a while to grow: some take as many as 5 days), the almost total reliance on fishing for food will be reduced.
