"Study Games"

Postby wubblemeister » Mon Mar 21, 2011 7:20 pm

I feel like it would be a neat player-to-player experience if "games" could be played between players. By games, I mean things like chess, beer-drinking contests, and even the already existing sparring option. These could give "GEPs", which are "game event bonuses". These are earned by the winner, and fill up a different bar, and go toward attributes just like FEPs do. Finally, both players who participated get some LPs, and the used game is consumed (for the sake of keeping the game from being too easy).

So if you played a drinking game and won, the barrel of weissbier would be depleted, you would gain 1200 LP, and get some GEPs that go toward charisma. Playing chess and winning will give you 2000 LP, and you'd get some GEPs toward intelligence. The chessboard might need some repairing, or could be gone completely.

Might this inspire casino towns? haha

Seems extremely intensive for loftar to program completely different game scenarios and mechanics outside of the already established gameplay just for little minigames. Perhaps if/when the game gets more polished off, but I can't see it happening anytime soon.

how about instead of all that, you just play chess with a cupboard or go sparring. have some fancy curios/food as the prize

i wouldnt object to them making some special ceramic game items, though. dice and shit, you know?

By the way, cupboard is 8x8 and all who open it see all changes in it, so it could be used as field for chess. :ugeek:

Tin soldiers make beautiful pawns, and bronze steeds should be nice knights if they're one tile (can't tell, haven't made any yet).
