The new animals should not be added to the game until they are capable of destroying construction sites and branch fences to stop people exploiting kills.

Poor AI is, quite correct, the reason we haven't put them in yet.

Also, when they are implemented, are things such as wolves going to be area specific? Or will there be many types of wolves that have different coloration?

Are you going to give wolves flanking AI, to help hunt down runners? Or is that unreasonable to code?

Probably not in the first revision of them, at least, but we'll probably keep improving the AI gradually over time.
