life guards.. kinda not really

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

life guards.. kinda not really

Ok, so tons of people are winging about the drownenating, and I don't really have a lot of sympathy for them after the many MANY warnings and already lots of noise on the forums.

Ignoring all that though, IRL when people are swimming, sometimes they are helped along / rescued by other, stronger swimmers.

Maybe this could be implemented in H&H, so that a drownee goes unconscious for a while before insta death in water, floats around randomly, until either dying permanently, or being fished out by a strong swimmer.

This would just let people experiment a bit more with swimming to find their depth so to speak so long as they had someone competent around.

I agree that just this little bit of mercy would be a great benefit.

Not to mention that it would make for a great story.
Surprise.

Remember never to touch mackerel, in RL or H&H, our local mythology says they eat dead germans (ouch, bad taste I know - take it as a purely academic anthropological factlet - and my sincere anthropologies to any Jerrys out there)

Yes, I've actually been thinking the same thing. I'll probably do that, once I figure out a good way to implement it.

Seconded on the swimming toggle.
Also, the most ironic thing.
You can't drown if you never learn swimming.

Yes. Being a cautious type, I chose not to learn it, even though I have the con for it - lag could still kill me, and the server has been mega-flaky so far. I'm really pleased with my caution, since I've misclicked while gathering clay in shallows more than once - and repetitive clay gathering isn't something I give my full attention, so I could easily have gotten into big trouble that way.
