Decaying Claims

Postby farmchamp » Tue Sep 08, 2009 5:18 am

HOLD YOUR FlAMES! I think that after one month of the owner of a claim not logging in, it should begin to shrink, and the lp will be lost. About one tile on each side every 2 days. On the old map, there were many claimes with nothing in them because everything was gone, except for the claim. That, or after a month, you can walk on claims with only criminal acts, and then destroy the claim, about as tough as a brick wall. Thoughts?

I think claims should be destroyable. Only reason for them not to be is the difficulty in reimbursing LP, but that shouldn't be too hard.

If they're destroyable they should also wear like everything else does. Same deal for hearth fires

I agree that claims that are inactive for very long times should shrink b/c it would be annoying if later on someone quits and they have a large chunk of land that no one can access just because their claim never goes away.

I think they should simply disappear after a set period of inactivity. Two weeks, or a month perhaps.

bumpity bump. Claims should decay after a while, whether its from account inactivity, character inactivity, or simply from lack or maintenance (like buildings) is something that I don't really care about <.<

People sometimes come, play for a while, claim some land, and then get bored and leave. That land shouldn't be locked out forever.
