Quality and Claims

Postby Pacho » Tue Sep 08, 2009 8:07 pm

Perhaps now that quality is implemented it could be transfered over to claim stakes? The higher the quality of the claim, the bigger area it can encompass. Instead of having to rebuild the claim pole everytime you want to make an upgrade, there could be a reconstruction option or something of the like that just replaces the object with a higher quality one while keeping the current claim intact.

You mean instead of using LP to enlargen them?
Surprise.

I mean both. The quality reflects the maximum size, while the LP reflects how much of it you actually control.

this sounds kind of... unneeded? redundant? why would you want this?

i mean, it's just tacking another restriction onto claims, one already filled by LP

Well, pretty much every other object is already affected by quality, be it on the terms of decay rate or how good the items you produce with it are, why not include claims into that little group? LP is already far too easy to gain, there are already quite a bit of huge claims not too far from the ring, and even though space is not nearly as much of a problem these days, I think huge claims should require a bit more than just a bit of macroing. I'm not asking for claims to be tiny or small, just that quality is linked in some way to its size.

Yes, of course. It couldn't possibly be something that just popped up in my mind, or that I decided to live in the middle of nowhere and am amazed at how big a claim I can have having only 30k lp to pump into it.

Anyways, that's my idea, take it or leave it.

I agree with limiting the size of claims based on quality.

It is an idea I approve of. You want a larger area, then build a village.
