Suggestion : claim LP investment.

Postby pyrale » Fri Apr 15, 2011 12:58 pm

I recently found a little cave not too far from my home, and I claimed it. The problem I find with this, is that it could be easily removed by a village without too much cost investment. I could easily increase my claim's size to make it a bit less attractive, but this would harm the friendly hermits that live around my place and that run nearby.

Suggestion :
Being able to invest LPs in a claim without increasing it's size. The main goal of this is to improve it's resistance to village declaims without claiming unnecessary large areas of land.

Your own Village claim should do the trick to ... its only a 101 square area.

this is actually a good idea... im not sure of how the mechanics would work, but do you mean like, the more lp you invest into a claim without size increase, makes it cost more authority for a village to declaim you... youre definitly onto something here, i like it

Not a good idea, since then any visual indication about how much LP are inside the claim would be gone.

so, its a lot more fun then, if you think its just a noob claim so youll risk the theft, then out of nowhere the next day you log on just before you see a large man with a sword deliver the final blow.

that or, have a visual representation of how much lp is invested, by like a deeper colour when you have more lp :?:

This would also lead to people making a very small claim and just stuff LP inside it, go full trad, killing rampage. You wont have to worry about size since you wont hit any other claims or borders if your claim is 10x10 squares or so.

I've got 20 banners to farm before I can claim this area, and I'm an hermit. So I shouldn't have this before a couple months.
I could plant another village there, but I'm not really interested in it since nowadays villages don't have friendlists.

Yeah, I thought about the fact it's easier to hide ressource claims. But honestly, when you claim ressources (except water wells), you're already making large-ass claims to cover them completely.
If you just want a large LP pool and go on a killing spree, you can already hide it in a cave (but what's the gain exactly ?). I guess it's not really a problem to find a large enough area to claim for your LP pool, unless you have many billions of LPs to store.

Adding an indicator of how many Lps are stored in the claim when you first try to enter it should do.

Naturally, because you are a hermit.

How me being an hermit makes it irrelevant ? I'm amazed at how people can pick a single line explaining the story around my proposal and try to make it reason enough to dismiss the whole thing. I will eventually claim this area, it's only a matter of time. However, I had the same problem when I had to claim a well earlier in the version (when I was in a village).

Right now, I have the feeling that claiming unneccessary large amounts of lands only to secure a tiny bit of it because it's the only way to prevent village declaim is stupid. And no, it's not about not having the LPs, or not wanting that people find me.

So now... Anything relevant to say, or is your next answer simply going to point out that I'm a 2011er, as you so often do when you're out of proper arguments ?
