Another of my usual 'here's some stuff I don't like and what I think should be done about it' threads.
Window positions
It's a real pain in the ass, the way a new window always pops up dead center of my screen, where it's guaranteed to obcure something and need moving. We need some kind of pinning, or tabs. Better yet, it'd be nice if theywere outside the game window completely, Ultima Online style.
Camera settings
A way of saving these would be nice. The default camera pisses me off the moment I do more than a few screens worth of walking. It'd be nice if I didn't have to type :cam fixed every single time I log in.
UI draw order
Please move right-click context menus to absolute top layer of the UI. They should never be obscured by anything. Currently, I find myself continually having to move inventory windows and minimize chat in order to see context menus for, say, right clicking trees.
Arrows and Quivers
Quivers are currently a huge annoyance to me - to the point that I find using a backpack to be preferable.
When wearing a quiver, arrows placed in inventory do not seem to be usable, meaning that to use an arrow you have just picked up, you have to move it to the quiver first - and that's an annoyance that's created by the bigger annoyance: Picking up an arrow places it in Inventory. If I'm wearing a quiver, and I pick up an arrow, it should automatically go into the quiver.
Archery and Melee uneven?
Out hunting with a friend, we noticed that they had great difficulty hitting anything with their axe - even a level 2 boar proved difficult to hit, whilst I was able to hit with my bow almost every time. ... And yet my marksmanship was *lower* than their Melee combat skill.
Food requirements still ridiculous
I've said this before, and I'm going to say it again: The amount of food needed get through a few hours of activity is absurd. In a single game-day, my character consumed probably a dozen apples, a dozen fish, 4 entire boars, 2 entire foxes, and 3 entire deer. I don't know about you, but in the real world, I'd likely explode trying to eat all the meat on a single boar, let alone 4 of them.
Foxes
Why on earth are these things able to rip me apart? I have a family of foxes living somewhere behind my real-life back yard, and the idea of one of those little things doing much more than giving me a few nasty scratches is laughable. They're the size of a Jack Russel terrier, and far, far less aggressive. Normally, they run the second they see me.
Of all animals to have ripping my ass open every time I step outside my claim, why a fox?
