Summoning someone with scent should take 15~ seconds instead of being instant.

This will in no way hurt ranging - the true purpose of scents, but will prevent and/or make less attractive various dirty tricks that are performed using scents currently.

Doesn't do much to ranging or the tricks at all.

Tricks need to be fixed not this silly catch all.

What sort of tricks are used using scents? Why would a 15 second wait have any effect on these tricks?

No. Stupid idea. If you are abusing bugs that you mentioned as dirty tricks report them and stop crying. Tracking is working as intended.

Agreed. Summoning is abused way too much right now, that needs to be fixed. Maybe there is a better fix though since this is not preventing all the tricks being used.


Has been reported many times though btw.

In what instances where summoning is abused will a 15 second wait make any sort of difference though? I don't get how this helps at all.

I guess if you were summoning dozens of guys then yeah it would make a difference, didn't really think about that. Still kind of dumb to put a bandaid on the problem that can easily be worked around. Have each summoned guy carry different scents and the number of people you can summon per 15 seconds grows exponentially. Would still only take a minute to amass an army of 32 starting with 2 and being organized about it.

I'm not against the particular idea, but I am against the general concept of gimping an aspect of the game to stop abuse instead of actually addressing the abuse.

Simple solution: you cannot summon someone on village claim, you can only destroy their HF. That would also solve summoning behind wall and shooting to death.
