Resource improvement

Postby Onionfighter » Wed Sep 16, 2009 5:23 am

Currently certain quality resources are limited to very specific spots on the map. While this may increase the amount of in-game trading, it really difficult to get all the resources needed to make something high quality.

Someone has already mentioned boiling water to improve its quality, perhaps there should be other ways to increase the quality of resources.

I think they spoke about fertilisation techniques for improving soil quality...

I think while quality of local environment resources should have some slow dynamic element to it, a lot of things shouldn't really be changeable... You've either got good clay in the ground or you don't.

Stuff like fertilisation and water quality could theoretically be changeable, but bear in mind that water quality is more than just purity. That's why we pay big $$$ for nice mineral waters etc with the right balance of umm... minerals...

Finally, I am pretty sure it's SUPPOSED to be difficult to get together the resources for making something of a high quality... That's sort of the point...

the claims certainly don't help. there's a large walled bottleneck claim sitting over the q90+ soil

and lets not forget where bottleneck attempted (and failed) to claim all of the q57 clay on the shores of Brogdar Lake

Actually that wall was apparently built to keep Bottleneck out. That wall is why the claim is bigger, but there is still access to high quality soil there.

Also, we never tried to claim all of the Brodgar clay, the best stuff stood between our claim and another one, so it was available to all. We did have nearby kilns that were off limits, though.

Frelock - owner of the claim - has a cabin there and is one of your members. as best as i could seem to get outside the walls was q80 soil

from what i've seen at Brogdar - may be mistaken - all the 57 clay there is claimed except for one line of tile off the eastern edge of your claim, with bumblebee's claim to the east preventing you from claiming that tile too

i mean 56 isnt that bad, claiming an area 1point higher seems petty but ill take what i can get

As far as I see it, I think this would be a good thing, if only we had some kind of in-game trade support.

Like some sort of global chat room you could access by pressing ctrl + c for instance?

Heh, just messing with you, I agree, an ingame chat board/communications mechanism would be handy
