Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

Guilds

Postby Flascher » Mon Sep 21, 2009 11:55 pm

Yes, I know this topic has been discussed very much over many, many threads, but I would like to make a thread for it. (Sorry if there already is one, but I didn't find one in search)

So, starting off on the topic, I think it would be great to see Guild Halls specifically, not necessarily a whole new UI for guilds, but just a hall that people can be known to be a part of, and possibly based on skills, such as a Blacksmithing Guild, a Hunter's Guild, a Naturalist's Guild, etc.
This could possibly mean:
- Noobs joining the guilds and learning from the experts, thus making the learning curve somewhat smaller, that is, if a noob knows to venture off to join a city.
- If the time were taken to make a whole new UI for guilds then being in a guild specific to a certain skill could boost the quality of the items created by said skill. This could be possible by also implementing a mastery percentage to skills, yes, I know this would be very difficult to implement, but I think that it could be potentially useful and encourage people to join guilds for the skill in which they would like to specialize in.

(The idea of implementing master is more of a hope than a reality, but I personally think, could improve gameplay by a lot)

Any more ideas? Feel free to criticize and add to the topic. :D

So basically it is like a party? Find a Guild hall, join the chat room and ask/give help? Correct me if I am wrong.

could have guildhalls, large special buildings whose interiors act as a claimed land for the guild (interiors only to distinguish them from villages. could have more than one)

not necessarily, the guilds could, or could not have a UI such as kin, but this could just be used as a meeting place for people, which may also have a use of being a city hall for justice, and many other lawspeaking abilities in the future, but if a UI is implemented then it could possibly function as a party of some sort. Not in the way that people are constantly leaving like most games, but they stay and it could also possibly act as a religious clan, or numerous other things.
