(Boy, I sure am coming up with a lot of SHIT ideas lately, aren't I?)
FIRE!!!
We have it in several forms already. But what I propose is fire as a... well a much more malicious force.
Perhaps a raider party is armed with nothing but torches? Palisades are wood, why can't we just use them as tinder for one hell of a sendoff show for the residents of said settlement?
Perhaps an incompetent soul leaves a fire unattended near a wooden structure. A wind catches the flames, and sets the structure alight. Now his only hope is to douse the fire. But as he is incompetent, he is burned alive. And nothing of value was lost.
So, if you've haven't managed to sift through my scenarios and pick out the core details, I imagine it'd work as such:
-Fires could be started either by torches, a flint and metal/stone object, or a plain old camp fire.
-Each method would have a different chance of setting a fire. Smacking a torch up against a wall might have slightly less of a chance to light said wall than meticulously starting a pilot fire.
-Fires could be doused with buckets of water (Click bucket in inventory > Right-Click fire). However, one bucket would only douse one tile of fire (so if implemented I need to move my settlement nearer to water/ a well).
-Only wooden/organic objects can be set ablaze. That means a firebomb thrown over a wall could ignite a field quite easily.
-Fire charred tiles would turn into wasteland. Grassland spreads the inferno, forest the same but at a slower rate.
So yeah, it may seem a bit unforgiving. Fire is so easy to make, with all the tinder lying about. So we need some sort of countermeasure.Water source + Rubber Tube/intestines + Pumps + Rubber Tube/intestines = Firehose?
Also, I don't expect this to get off of the ground, considering how most hearthlings would set EVERYTHING on fire. Perhaps a new skill with an LP cost as high as the Black Skills to stop people from setting their own clothing on fire?
