Crude Hut - New Construction

I've been having trouble finding rabbits, as I usually play when it's nighttime in the game and while foxes and boars and spindly taproots abound, all the rabbits have gone to hide in their "invisible rabbit holes." Now, here's my suggestion, based on the fact that finding a rabbit to make myself a bonesaw is so damn hard.

Using 10 logs (walls) and 10 clay (mortar) and 10 of any bough (roof) one should be able to construct a crude circular hut. The only tool required would be your trusty stone axe, to get the logs. And by logs i mean wood blocks. Some of you may say, "N00b, w3 lrdy gotz teh l3@n2s." Well, I want an actual house to go inside. Something that can be built, and have the door possibly locked (in a possible future update) to prevent my hard earned rats on sticks, herbs, fishing poles and bonesaws (if I ever find any) from getting stolen without having to wait for yeomanry.

Also, rabbit holes you can flush out with water or a torch to get up to 3 dead rabbits. Must have hunting and the will to power to do so, and has the same chance of spawning as anthills. They are only occupied during the night.

What do you guys think? I only started playing this game a few days ago, so please don't get mad at me for being noobish and wanting an easy alternative to finding a bone. I have found them before, mind you, in fact three in a row (rabbits) and was kicking ass before an ant squad commandeered my poor hearthling soul. Please leave your thoughts and comments below.

Ooh! New idea! Pueblos. Those clay/sandstone cubes some civilization lived in a while back. Made with 30 clay, and kind. It is 2x2 inside.

3 huge flaws in this:
1-why would you be able to lock a hut if you can't lock a log cabin, timber house, or even a stone mansion?
2-how would anything you put anywhere be in any way safe if you don't have yeomanry?
3-if your roof is the same size as a leanto your buildig wouldn't be very big inside...thereby making it pointless

its simpler to just build a leanto, then place a bed in leanto can then put a container in 2nd slot and sleep in it keeping your nooby goodies safe from other noobies. you should also try 1 of the alternate clients that allow you to cheat a bit. nightvision is probably the most used cheat which means you'll never have to worry about not seeing those rabbits. you'll also like show radius which puts a big bright red circle around agressive animals, making them much easier to see, so they can no longer hide behind trees and ambush you.

as far as your rabbit idea, no. rabbits are plentiful enough if you look in the right places. and if you can't find a rabbit grab a chicken. get out of whatever forest you're in and go find yourself a nice heath moor or grassland where animals actually spawn.

Your proposing a whole new construction to solve an issue that doesn't go on for more than an hour if you put yourself into it. Not much more to say, search harder.

Nobody has even mentioned the fact that this is completely impossible to implement under the current game mechanics the way you have described. Learn the game more before propsing any more ideas.

I agree with rabbits not spawning a lot, but that is suppose to happen in real life, correct?

Your stuff being stolen every time? I advice you to get a spot where in your mini map, no water can be seen. That way, people can't find you that easily. Building your camp/house/village near a river/lake is basically suicidal.

A hut for some weaker players? How small is it gonna be now?

Why couldn't you just say traps for rabbits?
Seems a lot easier to get out then Crude Huts

don't walk get in a boat, I just grabbed 5...would have gotten more but my containers were already full of chickens. remember zoom out and cruise down a river you'll see far more stuff(animals and foragables) that way.

if you don't believe me about the ton of animals out there, there are 2 rabbits behind that fir tree:

I'm sry guys, it's just... well... I'm lazy. :) Anyway, thank you for the suggestions, I'll look into a third party client. And traps? YES. Maybe if there are no players within a certain distance of it, it will occasionaly catch a rabbit at about twice the amount of time it would take a dream catcher to catch a dream. Thank you all. I have been enlightened. And btw i started a new char and found 5 chickens after 5 mins of starting :P
