Upgrade Fishing!

Postby stevefox74 » Thu Oct 27, 2011 5:24 pm

So my character was restarted and I had to survive, bla bla bla, curious, bla bla bla...
It was very good, I was surviving fine, I was expecting some changes in world 6. When I went fishing, it was the same, hook and wait technique. And also, why would fishes jump out of the water(I had no idea.. >.>)? It could actually be better if fishes instead of jumping, they will swim underwater, there will be shadows of fishes underwater, if you put your bait there, it might or might not move towards the bait and bite it. Once it does, you pull it and got it! Confused? I'll shorten it.

Short forms

Fishes Jumping |Change to | Shadows of fishes appearing underwater.
Place your bait on where fish jumps |Change to | Place your bait somewhere and fishes may or may not bite it.
The fish appears on your inventory. | Change to | You need to press [insert a key here] rapidly or press [insert a variety of keys here] in the correct order to catch it.

I don't know if this is suggested yet, but I apologize if it is. Upgrade fishing! Made it more exciting to prevent bots?

It won't prevent bots, you just made it so normal players had to do more stuff to catch a fish while bots will still have ways to work without human interaction.

This game never cared about bots. The only thing i could say is just that is weird that fishes are only in small locations (the ones where fish jumps).

It could just be that few fishes are everywhere, rare fishes and more fishes are where fish jumps. (this so, because fish spots drain out really fastly).

...and....i love the jumping white dots over the water, what's bat with it? XD

that kid played animal crossing 1 time too many!

I will admit I like the idea of fish in the water, maybe you could see a small school of fish swimming about instead of having them jump. and I agree you should be able to fish anywhere just fewer fish in other areas(like with digging for clay and you're not at a node?)...

but if fish are taken off the node thing people will want other things taken off nodes too so I understand why it is the way it is.

I don't like the whole "interaction" thing. Maybe more of a small chance to catch a fish instantly based on fishing skill. If you had a fishing minigame, might as well add a minigame for everything, and then HnH has turned into Lost in Blue. I like the path you're going down, though; music just isn't enough of an amusement while fishing anymore.

My only issue with fishing is getting perch all the time. Jeebus want eel. I hate you, moon.
