Animation Environment

My idea is to give trees, shrubs and taller plants such as wheat, peas, etc. animation swaying in the wind. To liven up more nature around player. :)

Do you even realize how hard that is to do animation-wise?

Not saying it's a dumb suggestion or anything, but it will require massive amounts of memory, too. You'd crash all the time if you had a semi-shitty computer.

Besides, it's been suggested countless times. Use search.

Difficult, perhaps, you can make 5 - 6 frame animation for each object (tree, shrub and plant Agrobusiness)?

sometime i thought about enjoy on create my graphic mod with more animations but the client is not coded in that way, so ther's no way that anybody of us can do that and, trust me, make an animation Seems easy but it is not. it need a lot of time and also a lot of patience when you have to redraw things where the first image is cool but then you realize that is impossible keep the quality for all the single frames. A pain.
Also damned cool.

But sure, one of the last thing to ask to devs i think, if we wanna see them alive for some year more. We risk to kill them of work. XD

A fast question. Someone that know better how the client work, could confirm me that also a modified client Cant add animations on graphics, right? It was a my think but i'm not a coder afterall. I should not have any hope, right?XD

ahh movement...I usually keep my map zoomed all the way out and when I see movement I know someone/something is nearby. I even use the hide function on shruberry and such and simple crops so people can't use such things as cover. Although I like the idea of motion, it would mean I'd have to retrain my eyes for spotting potential threats so I'm against this 1.

well some of the sprites are animated, take a look at the flotsam, figure out how it works to animate something in the resource file, and do it. have fun.

My guess is that animated objects have multiple images in the resource file, and either the client or the server cycles through them. A while ago I mentioned the difficulty of adding frames to an animation, and some of the modders seemed to agree with me at the time.

The majority of players will just see flat red boxes anyway. :D
