Brick Walls

Postby Yolan » Thu Oct 01, 2009 2:31 pm

Just a thought.

The original high price of brick walls was set back when anybody could have their own iron mine if they wanted. Although iron, wrought, steel will become more common as mining operations continue, I suggest that it will continue to remain rarer than in the last map.

Conclusion, make brick walls require somewhat less metal than currently.

The main trouble in brick walls isn't the iron, but the sheer amount of bricks required.

We used about 5000 bricks.

I don't know, brick walls should be a majo0r investment, mainly so they can't be used for griefing. Anyway, I think bronze should be a possible wrought iron substitute for them. Bronze needs more uses anyway, and it'd allow towns with copper or tin mines (like Brodgar, for example) to build brick walls.

i think that the amount of metal required for brick walls is fine as it is. sure i wouldn't mind needing less metal, but like potjeh said, it's a major investment. i can see the logic in having bronze as a wrought iron substitute, although though it does seem like it's a little easier to get bronze, so i'm not entirely convinced. why does brogdar need brick walls anyway though, your gates are always open?

Our main gates are always open, but that doesn't include our treasury, or our homes!

I agree with OP.
