New Barter Stand System

Before i begin, im not saying theres something wrong with the current system. Maybe another stand.
Proposal: make/revamp barter stand with points system.
I believe its safe to say as of world 6, points system is the games trading currency. However, with the new A&O trading outpost, theres kinda a limit to what we can sell for X items. Therefore, if someone sells RC for only pearls. So plan is, either make a different barter stand or, revamp it.

How it works
Same way it works on the forums.
Ex:
1:Select item from barter stand that costs 200 pts.
2: input enough items to reach 200 pts.

How it'll be done
Once you make barter stand, you input the items your buying.
- Input items you're selling with X value.

What this will solve
-More variety of items
-pearls doesnt have to be the only sion
-More item options

Barter stands really do need changing and this seems like a perfect way to do it

Vending stands are a waste of menory because none clearly uses them.

The question would be; Who or what decides the arbitrary value based on current market climate. Sure, pearls are generally accepted as *50 points* from most traders, but what about traders who want to assign them lesser or higher quality?

It eventually becomes convoluted enough to require a Haven and Hearth stock market, which has potential to be awesome, but it also has potential for massive levels of fail as well.

The way proposed in this topic kind of reminds of how you trade with Merchants in Dwarf Fortress.

The only really good example of barter and vending stand use was the Buyan market in w3. It worked because the stand was well protected, and invitation-only.

Point-based systems have been suggested before. I think your system is somewhat unique, but what can be done with excess points?

Points are essentially a fiat currency. I think players should be able to mint their own coins, and make other kinds of unique labels.

ainran and dis need to make gold coins and make most stands be vendor stands. barter stands for selling gold coins.

Gold doesn't have fine enough resolution. Silver might do it, since it's dirt cheap these days, but there might be serious inflation issues. I guess wallgrade steel would be the most stable currency.

BTW this is coming from discussion with Tonky, who said that in W3 coin system was quite nice for the BN trade center, since [trusted] newbies can come, sell all their forageables, and buy something nice with their iron coins.
