Villages are even more broken, especially when you want to make a town or city. Village overship can claim stuff you want to leave public, or you may want to have more control over certain areas.
What I propose is that you should be able to group kin into groups, and at your claim stake you could give groups different permissions. Such permissions could be:
- Enter
- Open/Close Gates
- Use tool
- Move tools
- Take tools
- Farm
- Mine
- Interact
- Take items
- etc.
Additionally and more importantly, Lawspeakers should be able to make zoneing stakes. They would basically work like claim stakes, but they could be any size with no cost (except perhaps a one time authority bill?) and can only build on village land. One important thing is that they should have to have a minimum space in between, so that crammed housing in cities can have proper claiming. The lawspeaker could then do the same grouping as with claim stakes, so for instance he could allow one area to let all the citizens use the tools, but only a few officials move the tools around. Additionally, there should be some way for including non-village members in this that doesn't require the lawspeaker and said person be on at the same time, so friends of the village can be allowed to do certain thing. An everyone option would be nice to, to allow anyone and everyone to say trade in a public market.
I'm pretty sure much of my suggestion is crap and wouldn't work the best, but this is mainly to get you thinking about the subject
