Skill/Skill Value: Salvaging/Deconstruction

Postby Cassial » Fri Oct 16, 2009 8:33 pm

I propose a skill/skill value wherein one can deconstruct an item to get some of the materials back.

The skill value would determine the QL of the materials you get back, directly proportional to the objects original QL.
(So, for instance, higher values would get a higher % of the QL back)

Skill value could also determine how many of the materials you get back, although this would have to be capped off at a certain point.

This idea is geared mainly towards people who have valuable, hard to move objects like cauldrons or other metal placements, and who wish to pack up and move.

I suppose, though that is less feasible if you're traveling to a location with no roads or waterways. Though, it was just an idea, thought salvaging might be nice.

Should this be implemented, maybe you should have the option to recover or not. Since I'm knocking down a shite load of fences atm, I certainly don't want to do inventory management on the branches I would then get back - as an example.

once you have no more space in your inventory, salvage would naturally just drop to the ground, presumambly. Might be annoying when taking down a oven, though.
Surprise.
