After struggling with Photoshop abit, I decided not to attach a funny image after all, I think you see what I mean.
As I understand it, there is an overhaul of inventory code coming up in the foreseeable future.
It would be nice to have the ability to sort an inventory (possibly any inventory, including kilns etc.)
Each item would be assigned a number, and this number concatenated with the quality number of the item (probably ignoring variables such as degree of fullness in wine bottles and curd quality in cheese vats) would decide the slot the item would be placed in the sorted inventory.
Sorting the inventory could drain a small amount of stamina, depending on number of slots.
Possible extension: assign number 0001 to the first item group (keys) encountered in the inventory, and item number 9999 to the last encountered item (flax seeds).
The Problem: all the different shapes items can take in a variably sized environment will screw up the algorithm.
One possible solution could be to leave all non-1x1 items in the place they were before sorting.
