i was like "hmmm how to fix that". I thought about something nice, add a 1 month decay on p claim, dont worrie no need for repairs just verifying the claim will be enought, think about it 1 vérification for 1 month not very time consuming and i know that memory can forget so when the claim is about to break (like 1-2 days before) it could lunch a chat message (or on screen (in heavy colors)). I can hear you say "but if i take a break and for more than 1 month??" simple anybody that got access to you claim (friendly of course) can refresh the 1 month decay cooldown.
After i start thinking about some post about the seige mechanic, "hmmm ..." i got 1 idea on that too (caution big texte in coming)
ok first lets add some new siege enginne,
THE CATAPULT
stats,
medium range weapon (fire range not size) that can move (no breaking on moving) but cant go in water
got a big squarre (i think that cutting some tree to make it pass could be good, no?)
precision set by the Q of the catapult AND skill of the shooter (maybe add a new skill, gonna talk about it later)
precision CANT be 100%. Ammo: boulder (here is a use for boulder other thant stone) and pile of stone.
The boulder deal medium damage vs building (i dont know what could affect the damage) when hit, the building get a decay hit (dont worrie i got something comming to had to strategy

for the pile of stone, low damages vs building but got a dispertion effect (so good vs infantrie target) (there again dont realy know about the damage and the stone stays on the floor )
the catapult can be hit by other boulder throw, range attack (arrows, rock) and melee
range attack deal less damages than all others.
THE TREBUCHET
stats,
long range weapon (again, fire range) that CANT move (for moving you need to pack it, after it can be push, or link to a wagon) and cant go in water
got a big squarre, medium when packed (again i think that cutting some tree to unpack it could be good, no?)
to pack and unpack you need to work on it (like building something)
precision set by the Q of the trebuchet AND skill of the shooter
precision CANT be 100%. Ammo: boulder deal big damage vs building same has catapult the boulder can be recover
pile of brick, same has the pile of stone but got higher damages on infantrie and a small + vs building
got a small inventory to carry boulders
damage dealt on the trebuchet is the same has the catapult.
So, we got something for attacking, what about defence?
new def addon, building fortification, by adding some materials
list,
wood board: low def add on buildings and palissades, palissades can also be fortifie whit "logs" (adding a log in the back of the palissade to make a triangle, take some squarre behind the palissades, add life, the log decay first when the palissade is hit.)
stone: low+ def for buildings and palissades
bronze: medium def for buildings and palissades
iron: medium+ def for building and walls (can be put on all walls)
steel: heavy def for building and walls
(all of this could be influence by the Q of the material AND the new skill)
brick walls cant be health boost whit logs
you have too spend ressource on all section, not just 1... all must be fortifie (if you attack think about scouting the wall to find a weak spot

new def building: shelter, simple you go there not to get hit by incoming projectile (can be fortifie) and the life and def is set by the skill, when the shelter is destroy people inside get eject whit some damages.
boulders could also be harvested from montain, with a pick and on stone like rune stone but more tham 1 maybe.
and i was also thinking that we should be able to lift koed people so like that you could put or friend in safe place (you can lift a boat whit 2 lc full of iron, so why not?)
so big war will be fought by fire and steel and noobs got something too upgrade the small palissade they make (yep hard to make a brick wall when you cant find ressource or cant stay 2 days whitout being raided) and when i talk about def, i talk about the Soak Value. "oh no pallibasher will need more str to break stuff!!"
ressource needed is still to think for all def and attack.
ok so i was talking about a new skill earlier, what about being a siege expert?? the best def fortifier??
what about en engineering skill? now we would see some caracther set for en important mission... to get others inside the walls! or just too make rain rocks on a ennemy settlement to destroy everything... and of course the keep the inside wall defence and trebuchet in perfect condition (yep an attack equipement can be use to defend also)
so, i know it isnt perfect, i know there is stuff missing/over and i know haven is in a bad shape, but dont you want to give jorb and loftar something when they return?
could you help me? lets talk about it and modifie it to be better.
