I did a search and did not come up with anything like this.

What about having the ability to inscribe a message on a keyring? So you know which keys go to which gates.

you can name individual keys, why would you need to name the keyring?

So you dont have to open the key ring, You can just hover over it. I like the idea if you have a lot of key rings and dont want to open every one.
