Are wells affected by Quality points? And is the water Q affected by bucket/stone quality?
I suspect that water Q is always q10, making them almost worthless. I say that wells have separate Q points, and that they tend to be higher than water-source Q.

Of course, this is just extrapolation from what's already in the game. In reality, you can have perfectly pure water, water that's OK, river water, and scum. It doesn't get better than perfectly pure well water, and a few ppm of calcium won't make a difference in the quality of a cloak that's made with ashes from a loaf of bread that was made of the water.
Surprise.

Oh damn.

I was kinda hoping this was a suggestion for rainwater wells (Roman Style).

No one likes my Roman Style wells idea?

Not entirely since sources of water are very abundant as it is, but I do like the style of rain and other types of weather.

Then apparently nowhereville was built on an incredibly uncommon plot of land. The closest unclaimed well was...

Well, it was a shorter walk to the Lake of Brodgar. If you knew where Nowhereville was, you'd know how hilarious that is.
