Of course, books and book binding and printing presses have been suggested before.

See, for example: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2404&hilit=printing+press

I think this deserves a bump however. Especially considering we now have a curiosity system. We study bugs but not books?
What if a curiosity could be part of a recepie for making a book which was also a curiosity? All kinds of possibilities, such as an anthology about types of bugs. ;-) Or, for that matter, types of hats? lol.

OK, so it could also tie into skill trees of course. Certain types of knowledge might only be learnable by studying a relevant book, and that book might need to be created using certain objects.

Finally, the devs have stated that as it stands adding books would require some basic code-work that does make it challenging. One of the problems is that as it stands, parchment is written onto using basic strings of text. As a stop gap however, I would simply like a printing press object (1 piece of artwork) that allows you to enter in said string of text, and then press it onto as much parchment as you have.

But... next you'll be suggesting a postal service for tells, instead of the almost instantanious system we have now!

I shall indeed be producing coins in the future, and selling my papers for them! ;-)
