If there are clay couldrons, there needs to be clay TANKARDS

Noobs should have the right to make and drink cheap beer, as well as hold parties where cups are in no short supply! What say thee?

Anyway, it should require 3 clay, and then you bake it with 2 branches. Holds less than their metal counterparts.

What is this?
A crusade to eliminate trading?
Everyone should be able to pull everything out their ass*?

(Yes, I have a tin mine, and am laughing at my healthy mother here, but the point is:)

Do you want to buy a tankard?
I can sell you one pretty cheaply - linen, roach, chanterelles, what do you have?

i kind of support the use of glass tankards (or drinking beer right out of the bottle even), but, yeah, a bar of tin makes two tankards and there is plenty of tin available for pretty cheap

From what I understand, it is Jorb and Loftar's goal to make there be at least a few possible "paths."

Clay tankards make a lot more sense than someone being completely unable to use a wineglass or a teacup to hold beer, and thus dying of thirst.

Trading will still happen; one would still need metal for a lot of tools, weapons, and other gadgets; things like this allows people to bootstrap themselves to the point where they can make things that they can trade for metal.

It's a small change, and won't have much effect on it's own, but I think this suggestion makes sense.
Surprise.

Yes, well, I guess I overreacted abit.

The natural thing would be to allow beer to be drunk from wine glasses and tea cups and vice versa (maybe removing less TW/tiredness when drunk from an unfavourable container)
I guess some variant of this will come into play once JnL can be bothered to find a proper punishment to drink from an unsuitable cup.

My trade request is still valid though, as an immediate solution.

Maybe, like with the clay cauldron, drinking from an unsuitable cup could halve the q of the substance being drunk?

And drinking from a golden goblet would increase the q.

The main reason why there is one vessel per drinkable fluid is because the current implementation of fluids is rather inflexible. In this particular instance, its problem is that it is the drinking vessel itself that implements the code for what happens when you drink something -- not the fluid you're drinking, as you'd probably otherwise expect. This needs to be fixed sooner or later, but it isn't entirely trivial, so don't expect it to be done tomorrow.
