More features for animal farms !

Postby Roxana » Thu Nov 07, 2013 5:59 pm

I get tired of having to use a rope to move my animals within my pen just to get to a certain cow to milk. I got my wrist aching just by "leash animal, move, unleash animal" routine. A feature that allows me to "scare" those animals close to me so they move away and let me reach a certain cow would be nice. Some people say "just use fence doors to lock the cow's movements" but that's not my style, i prefer to let them roam free inside my pen (looks more realistic).

Another pain in the *ss is to fill those food troughs...a cool feature would be to let the animals "eat crops" directly. I mean, you make a huge fence, you plant carrots or beetroots inside, and let the animals eat those crops. When they ran out of crops you simply replant more.

a question: is there a faster way to fill up a food trough ? i mean, you fill up your inventory with fodder and then you must "shift + Right Click" repeatedly over it until full /out of fodder ? :( ...they should implement something like "shift + mouse wheel" over the trough or something like that to fill it more quickly.

You are able to mousewheeling when filling throughs - works he same as with containers. Also you can right click on a through with a lifted one to fill it's content into the right clicked.

I tried to do it, but it doesn't seem to work. What it did work was the trick in which you right-click a trough while lifting a full trough

try : left click crop in inventory , hold shift and right click through, then mousewheel while holding shift

i'm sorry that i can test to give proper instructions but i'm sure mousewheeling works with filling throughs in some way

also look at Tips (bottom of page)

The only thing I can do is to left click the crop, then right click repeatly on the trough (thing i've been doing since the beginning). The wiki says the same thing in the "tips" section. I don't see anything about mouse wheels.

I've been trying everything to make the mouse wheel work with the trough...no results ! :(

Only right-clicking the trough has any action on the trough item, the only time mousewheel activity is detected is when a container window of some kind is active and in focus.
