Time Cap to Progression to Reduce Grind

Add a weekly cap of X number of Foodstuffs and X number of curios, to allow regular players to play alongside players like this:

There needs to be some intrinsic mechanic that regulates progression so that it is not so attached to how much you bot. Hardcapping a characters weekly use of food and curios is just one way to do that.

You do realize that the first pic is something someone put together just to shut up everyone's bragging and it is not sustainable?

The second is a "golden egg" farm. No idea how many eggs Dis got out of that, but I understand it was very few.

And FYI, according to the way you word that, you realize it will hurt newer players more than the vets, right? This game is all about the quality grind, not how fast you can consume. If you can't be on to rotate your crops as often as possible or search out better ore nodes, you're going to fall behind even faster if there's some artificial limit. You'll still be stuck with Qnothing materials while the power gaming villages will have the top quality foods and have even more left over to feed up more random theft and murder alts.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

idk, i think this guy might be onto something. As someone who doesn't bot, my experience is that if im active i can still keep up with the crazy botters in just about every aspect of the game, but feps is one of the only things where im at a big disadvantage. Even if i pump out just as much food, without a bot to grind hunger, theres no way for me to eat all of it. My attrubutes usually fall way behind pretty quickly. Playing the game normally just doesn't get you nearly as much hunger as plowing a spot of ground over and over again, but that's exactly what you're encouraged to do in the current system.

Some limit on how often you could level an attribute could stop bots from getting too out of hand. Nothing so extreme as a weekly cap, but like some timer similar to personal beliefs that would only allow you to raise an attribute every few hours or so. Of course i think i remember hearing something somewhere about planned reworks for the fep system, but who knows, just an idea.

Robben is onto something, in that there's a problem with character progression, but I do not think the cap, as he proposed, should operate that way.

I am under the persuasion that there should be a hardcap in terms of character progression, and all other progression should be material, so that time playing is encouraged to be social play.

And if not a complete hardcap for character progression, a virtual hardcap, meaning that diminishing returns are so great from raising an attribute/skill that raising a stat serves no other purpose than bragging rights.

Players are instead progressing socially through the materials they manipulate.

I think there should be a level cap for stats. That way people can bot all they want, but they won't be able to reach crazy levels that non-botters and people with real life responsibilities cannot.

Maybe cap all stats at 250? I think being able to punch down a wooden wall is unrealistic, and only hurts the game. If people can simply run around and solo raid new villages instantly, it isn't fair to new players who cannot build a brick wall.

What about ramming, you might ask... What would be the point of building brick walls if raiders have to build rams either way?

Well with str capped, it would take more players to ram down a brick wall, where it would only require one person to ram a pali.
