Idea: Composters and Worm farms

Postby richc » Tue Feb 25, 2014 7:44 am

The composter would be "fed" with animal and vegetable waste such as bones, ash, feces of domesticated animals, giving rise to "Organic Compound".
The organic compound feed the worm farm, which the worms reproduce and give rise to humus. Humus would be a viable way to increase the quality of the soil.
Composters:
inputs:
-Bones
-Animal feces
-Straw
-Remains of fish
-Food scraps
-Ashes of fire
-etc.
product:
-Organic compound

Worm farms:
input:
-Organic Compound
-Earthworms
product:
-Earthworms and Humus

Sorry for my bad English. :D

"Vermicompost is the product or process of composting using various worms, usually red wigglers, white worms, and other earthworms to create a heterogeneous mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast. Vermicast, also called worm castings, worm humus or worm manure, is the end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by an earthworm."

Vermicompost, worm humus or whatever. Here in Brazil is more common to use humus.

Why not? I see no negative barriers. Being that it is easy to adapt to the mechanics of the game... I guess. It is a method used a long time by the humanity. Brings more realism to the game. It can develop a method where increased qsoil by the humus, does not return in a natural way, as with the natural nodes.

If it isn't as pita as it is in Salem, then I'm all for it.

Im all for the possibility of increasing the soil, the basic principle of your idea is great! Although, it is pretty intense in the mechanics, simply making the soil increase in quality from being used would be a great start.
