Village Centerpiece (for dynamic civilization rings)

A constructable item that requires MASSIVE resources that belongs at the center of a village and emits an amount of civilization in a circle.
These could be used to dynamically calculate the level of creature spawns and also link into some other things like extra abilities to village chiefs, or certain buildings must be within its radius
maybe have a toggle (settable by the village chief) to allow new players to spawn there.

Could be a communal bonfire, could be a large crystal, could be a building (the inn at brodjar?) could be the stone circle.

Should require some small level of maintenance.

Maybe allow players to upgrade the centers, or in some way align themselves with the center object to be members of that settlement (rites of passage?).

I like this idea.
They could be visible on the mini-maps as well to help players find them.
Also, you mentioned from a bonfire to a crystal and such, maybe they could be upgradable.
Considering you have to make glass from fire, we could have the first stage be the large bonfire, and people would have to sacrafice Dreams+sand,(which should be implemented)
to get crystal, that would go towards the large crystal. That would increase the size of the ring, and say, allow more people into the city?
