Rat farm

Postby Jonar » Thu Apr 03, 2014 9:24 am

Recently, it has been my thing to carry a rat in my inventory (yes, the town I live at has gotten that boring). I call him Sneakers! But carrying him around got me to thinking. Why not breed rats? I have no clue what to use them for. Maybe turn them into rat puppets as a curio, or use said rat puppets to boost happiness (When it actually matters). Anywho, throw your guys thoughts in about my idea. Would be interesting to see what rat..like...stuff?... you can come up with.... Rat flail...

There have been quite a lot of topics on things to do with rats and rat farms since I've been here but this is the first time I've seen 'rat puppets', lol, they are rather creepy, I agree, but inventive none-the-less. :)

Would be fun to see trained rats, which you can throw through enemies walls to eat their food. Rats can be stopped by poison and mousetraps. Or just killed. Amount of rats thrown should be limited though to prevent griefing.

But this idea is too obvious, so I bet it was posted 50 times before.

I don't think this idea was posted that often, but i did see one where you get cow semen+ sling, then launch it over walls into cow vaginas, to lower the quality of their cows.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I think rat-puppets is an excelent idea for a curio... i mean IRL i would stare at that shit for a good while out of pure curiosity (say it was hanging in a store or at a friends house for example).
where as a dandelion or a moss i woudlnt care about at alll, a teddy bear maybe a quick glance and a abacus.. please i'd run the opposite direction of...

so yea, rat-puppet curio +1! breeding.. nah :P
