Dyes

A new skill could use different plants or animals to dye objects.

Certain colors could be easier to create than others: red, yellow, brown

others would be harder: blue, purple

This could create its own little industry.

Yes, we have thought about this possibility a few times; the only thing is that it isn't entirely obvious exactly how it should be implemented. There are a couple of details that would need to be worked out, both in terms of programming and in terms of the actual game mechanics.

Such dyes would be exellent trade goods if they could be made to be difficult to get. I imagine that Red, Dark Brown, and Yellow would be easy to get everywhere, while Blue, Teal, Green, Violet, Crimson (very bright red), White, and Black would only come from plants or minerals in certain areas.
Surprise.

Black is easy.

Anyway, i suggested this before to jorb ingame but i think a tanning tub is the perfect thing to dye with. Just toss in a fabric or leather, add water and dye and go!

If you use the tanning tub, you could have certain percents of dyes, to get unique colors. Just have the certain percents set the RGB hues. ;D

Everything should be dyable green, so green that the entire screen is green. People who aren't green will be dyed green. Those who don't like being dyed green can always go get the red dye and dye themselves red, but it's gonna be difficult to find it, because we're gonna dye the red dye with green dye.

I was thinking the same thing.

White dye is impossible. Maybe certain objects could be bleached.

Probably everything except leather. Leather cracks when bleached, but I'm sure, we could have an arctic area that would have white wolves, with white leather :P
