Death

Postby LadyV » Wed Aug 06, 2014 3:50 pm

Alright I think its time for new content on death. We now have skeletons, skulls, and bones. So how about a purpose other than the obvious. We can have proper graves, mausoleums, even monuments. Lets record out dead. And for all of you head hunters out there Im sure a new dark surronding to place your bone throne and skull torchs would be nice. :lol:

I'd still like a book of the dead feature, Basically a book with the names of all villagers from your village that have died recorded, Maybe it has their Age(Time played as), And birth and death. Could be a built thing you make inside a mausoleum as LadyV suggested.

Engrave Tombstone with proper character information instead of just manually typing out a runestone (so it's verifiable), proper graves, maybe norse funerals with burning boats for numen.

We only pushed them out on a boat and burnt them because they might rise as zombies. The introduction of Consecrated Earth made the practice redundant.

edit: Oooh ooh, if we can dig and alter terrain (come Hafen(haven2.0)), can we thus, build burial mounds?

Its not like players leave current gravesites alone.

That's like asking me to not pick every single forageable curiosity I see while out exploring. Of course I'm going to defile graves whether or not I need a skull / lp.

I usually leave something in it's place. Like a dead chick, I figure it's win win, I get a skull. They get a chick.. sort of.

I'm not sure if this is the place for it, but what about... undead guards?
A few Gnarly Nightmares, a pickled fetish and a corpse(Fresh or bones) and poof! A sentinel to guard where ever you bind them. Of course nothing lasts forever, so maybe it should require some power source? You add wood to a fire, coal to a furnace, so... Essence? A little SHP here and there? I mean the thing is protecting you so it should draw back somewhere, and keeps people from raising too many.

Also... LOOTABLE BONES! I get so tired of seeing dead bodies everywhere and you can loot animal bones, WHY NOT PEOPLE! Their bones are just as good as any other. Maybe make some kinda system that allows you to get stat/skill buffs based on the Prior persons abilities? Maybe something along the lines of;

sqrt(stat*3/7)

Or something like that, I dunno. I just think it would be hilarious to have a 'Lich Crown' helm that gives farming and sewing.
Anyway, that's my two cents.
Till next time
The masquerade arrives with nary a sound, all will find in their laws they are bound.
Tipping the scales and teaching justice to see, only in true death can one honestly be free.
But some of us are stubborn, while others try to talk shit. But I hope I speak for most of us, that we just don't know when to quit.
