Custom Server Messages

Postby Jfloyd » Mon Nov 30, 2009 3:00 am

I just had a FANTASTIC idea!
When a charter stone is created, a custom message should be able to go with it. This way when a newbie joins using that stone they get a message right away on what to do.
This way there could still be a tutorial but not standardized by the devs.

Makes some sense.

On a tangient from this, there should be a way to label charter stones with messages to newbies. Just something like "Brogdar: The Town for New Players" or "Gramlon: Wilderness town for pros only". Something to give new players a push in the right direction when choosing stones.
Surprise.

Ever wonder if it's all for you
The world I love The trains I hop To be part of The wave can't stop
Come and tell me when it's time to

I am working on the Novigard Tutorial Road, and well a Newb came up to ask me questions. I was happy to answer them, but when I asked if he had read the runestones (though low on info so far) he replied that he hadn't. I would love to have something that would pop up onscreen when they log in at the Charter Stone Reading...

To Learn the game, Please right click and read each runestone that comes along your path.

Or something like that...
