Dryads can be, be it depends on what type of dryad (go games, like MTG ect...). Nature spirits protect nature, having a dryad attack you over chopping down trees makes sense. so long as we can fight back.

Instead of the drynad attacking, it could just make upsetting sounds when you cut down a tree in its vicinity. When you are alone in the forest cutting down trees, a sound you weren't expecting can give you quite a shock.
