I know, I know, "But RustyBuckitt, that was recommended way before!" Well, like with canals, I never found one that portrays my interpretation of a dam.
Everyone wants bridges, so how about instead of building something to cross water, we drain the water?
PROs:
Drain rivers to a Shallow enough state that you can walk across them with ease.
Contain water in certant locations.
Can be destroyed by a fresh alt in the first 24 hours (when made of wood, and un-dried stone dams), making griefing harder. (Good thing for village owner).
CONs:
Can't walk across.
Decay quickly, constant maintenance needed, requiredrequires Bone Glue To repair.
Can be destroyed easily, especially when made from wood.
Can be destroyed by a fresh alt for the first 24 hours (When wood and un-dried stone dam) making griefing harder. (Bad thing for the Troll).
