Discoveries

Here is a simple suggestion for how discoveries work. I have never been a big fan of go to a stand and discovery it and now you can make it type solutions. It gives you something with no work for it. Besides just because I have seen an end product does not mean I know how to get it to that point.

What I think would be more rewarding would be a credit or research reduction to that end result. So if you get a discovery via someone else or a stand it does its normal LP bonus but it does not give you the ability to make it. You still have to research the skill. Or even the reduction option you could say alright you have discovered this with help so you have inspiration to know the outcome but now you have to research it but at a slightly lower cost because you have had help.

Discovery of an item should come from your own actions not simply knowing the end result. We should always have to learn our way but when we get help it should be recognized by some sort of reduction in research cost. That way we earn our place rather than be given them. :)

An interesting idea, I'd like to see how it would come into play in practical uses. Tomes of Knowledge have been suggested over and over, but they could help with that.
