Player count history

It would be nice to see a graph of the player count over the years the server is on. Right now its difficult to see how many players are playing as you can only take a sample as you enter the website and see the number. But a generally larger graph with year, month and day showing the player count would be nice to have somewhere. Maybe something like it already exists and if not would be nice to have it in hafen.

Something similar to this.

Well, I do have some internal data collection, but it's very ad-hoc and suffers from quite bad sampling, so I've been hesitant in sharing it if for no other reason than for risks of misinterpretation (for sure, it has at least missed some quite significant peaks due to the sampling problems). The plotting is also horrible. But sure, have a look:

Concurrent users:

Accumulative users:

Red is unique accounts used in about a day, green is unique accounts used in about a week, blue is accounts created per day.

Please avoid making extensive conclusions or sharing this "irresponsibly" as being authoritative data, though, due to the many problems with the data collection. Hafen will bring massive improvements to the data collection thanks to a much better IPC architecture.

As a point of curiosity from our web stats, "Adolf Hitler" is a consistently high Google search string that lands people on the forums. ^^

The server used to buckle under 350 concurrent users or more than 10 people fighting at the same time in w3, so one step at a time. =)

Also, if you look hard at the eye on the one dollar bill, you can clearly make out his face.
