Play it without it, none is stopping you. You remind me of the arguments people who are against gay marriage use. * I dont like gay marrage because I don*t want to marry a guy* then don*t.
Other people would appreciate it though.
I doubt loftar will actually do this, so i*m really just here venting my anguish at having to play without it until a large faction releases their custom botting client at some point after launch.

So you're saying we should make a parody of HnH?

I was pointing out that there's already a game that plays itself.

"Our fundamental goal with Haven & Hearth is to create a game in which player choices have permanent and/or lasting effects and, thus, providing said players with a meaningful and fun gaming experience."

Last I checked, this game is intended for players and not programs.

Botting: Letting code take over the majority of the game actions and player decisions. (Who is playing the game again ?)

Small task automation: Seems that some of those are already been taken care of. (See topic: hafenandhearth/portal/media2)

I for one would not like to go back to manually clicking 20 mouse clicks to fill a barrel with water from a well. But I guess I'm a bit spoiled now.

To be fair, you never really were particularly specific about what you were talking about.

If you have never used a bot before, i can see why what im saying might be confusing. Im talking about adding botting to the standard client.
botting= scripts that cut wood- fill barrels- plant etc.

Implying a developer doesn't know what a bot is and how it is used. :D
What could be confusing in your post is asking to add a cheat into official client, imho.

Is it?

Then why does everyone use bots instead of playing the game?

Since botting gets you so far ahead of others in this game, you can never hope to compete with someone who makes use of botting if you don't do it too. If you don't bot, all you can do is play farmville while waiting for others to bash your head in.

Botting already is a core of the game.

If they don't plan on fixing that, why not just integrate bots into the standard client?
I think it's a good idea.

Botting is a core of the game only because of people who cannot stand to aquire their stats/items in legit way and want to do it faster/easier/more efficient.
I personally prefer playing without it, but can't really blame you for prefering easier ways, if they are available or you have enough skill to create them, AND when they aren't strictly forbidden.
Flevalt wrote:I think it's a good idea.

In my opinion, that's what custom clients are for. There's a wizard's tower subforum for a reason.
Isn't that enough? Why would developers add a feature, that makes their software rely on other programmers/scripters? Because I can hardly imagine devs writing bots for you to use.
Want a botting support in a client? Go on, write your custom client or download an existing one.
