Before anyone's confused: reason you see some bigger sigs is because they're from before the limit was put in. Limit just prevents from making new sigs with "big" images, it doesn't actively check for them.

(I do think the restriction might be a little strict though, at least regarding horizontal size. But since there's not much you can convey as is, why not completely disable embedding images in signatures, or preferably restrict it to ~24x24 so a few emoticons can be included?)

Sound like there is a possible workaround hidden in that statement. Maybe even more than one.
