Any estimations on map change?

Subject says it all. J&L do you have an estimate on when the map will be wiped and changed? Quite a few people are waiting for a new map. I remember reading a thread about procedural generation of maps, and it had some pretty good ideas (Peter was also making some example maps).

No, and don't expect one. Next time we do a reset it'll be on a very short notice.

Please, next time don't give us Lembas. A set of basic clothes should be all we get. And yeah, I'd prefer it to be a surprise, ie I log in one morning and find out that the world as I knew it is gone.

I think when a new map is added, players should be able to choose an assortment of what they want to start with, whether you want to have a fishing rod, vs some other tool, also what kind of food you want to start with. there should be 6 basic foods that all fill like bread.

a better method might be to have your starting equipment based on the skills you choose to begin with

You know, one of the things I appreciate very much with Haven as it is, is precisely the fact that you don't get to choose anything while creating a character (apart from gender, which is just cosmetic anyway). I very much like the fact that a new character is entirely free of preconceptions and ready to be shaped by his path in the world (which is something I very much intend to capitalize on and emphasize further when the LP system is replaced).

In fact, with the new Kin system in place (and the "peer-to-peer" naming that it entails), I've almost even considered the idea that characters shouldn't even be given names as part of their creation.
