Few expansionist ideas for things already implemented.

Just a few items that can work together for a bit more diversity and somethig new to do between major mechanic updates. (for all us peacenik farmer types..lol)

More use for sand:
New item - Glass Jars

New crop : Peanuts
New crop : Sugar Cane
New item : Peanut grinder

Peanut grinder = 10.0 bucket of peanut butter
Wine press grinds sugar cane to = 10.0 bucket of sugar

Craft : B of Peanut butter + Glass jar = 1.0 jar of peanut butter

New items also for jars. Grape and Mulberry Jelly

use wine press to extract bucket of mulberry juice and grape juice (already)

Craft : Bucket of grape juice or mulberry juice + Bucket of sugar + gladd jar = Mulberry or grape Jelly

New food
Craft 1 Bread + 1.o from Jar of peanut butter + 1.0 from jar of jelly = P&B sandwich
New food
1 bread dough + sugar + pumpkin slice = pumpkin pie

New crop : Cucumbers

Pick cucumbers for pickles.

Sweet pickles = 10 cucumbers + vinigar + 1 sugar + 1 glass jar + 1 day in herbalist table to cure
Dill pickles = 10 Cumcumbers +vinigar + 1 glass jar + 2 days in herbalist table to cure.

New food :
Roasted beef + Pickles + bread = Hamburger.

Just some fun things to make use of new things and some things we already have.

Peanuts are native to the Americas, which makes them seem a little out of place.

Pumpkins are assumed to have originated in the Americas, it's not known for sure. I'd be in favor of dropping them too, though I doubt it will happen.

humm, well as has been said before, comparisons to "real life" is a bit much, as I've seen such comparisons pashawwed as inappropriate. BUT if one does want to go that route, there is a thing called import...lol Such as 1565 when Tobacco seeds are introduced into England, but smoking does not spread until Sir Walter Raleigh makes it fashionable in the court in the mid-1570s. And it was in France and Italy shortly before that. Same with Potatoes in 1586. So a lone heartling merchant brings back some cucumbers and peanuts from a far away land...I think it could pass.

i like the idea of pickling things (not necessarily cucumbers), could just use the existing clay jar, although i would like to see a bit more use for glass. the devs have talked about sugar beets possibly being implemented at some point. peanut butter is just silly though.

But constructing underware out of nettles, using a magical root cooked up in cauldron to locate metal deposits miles away, and eating ants is NOT near as silly as grinding up peanuts and sugar to make his peanut butter and simple jelly for one of the most world renound snack foods ever made. Uhhh yeah. :P

Peanut butter and hamburgers are a decidedly American thing. We don't like no Americans 'round these parts.
