Graphics for combining walls

It'd look cool if walls joined together when you built them next to each other

especially if you could walk on top of walls that were two or more tiles thick by building some stairs

that sounds neat, however wouldn't it be easier to code a double thick wall that took double the damage then combining walls.

the problem with double thick walls is that... it restricts you to double thick walls

this is a simple graphical addition that continues to allow you to make any thickness

So, This would be a purely Graphical addition?

Well, if you could walk on the walls, it would be more than a graphical addition. Possibly a stepping stone to reinforced towers, things like that.

If you wanted to be able to walk on the walls, then you'd need another layer to the game world. It's this same reason that bridges can't be implemented currently. Would be pretty neat though.

no, nobody can walk under walls anyways so there'd be no mesh. The only issue is with gates and that can easily be solved by having a gatehouse above it with an inside location and two doors.

Walking on walls would be neat, but I can't think of a good reason for needing to be able to do it.

Current game mechanics make it more difficult to build walls right next to each other, anyway.

It occurs to me that pacho's suggestion might be a viable method for creating bridges, even gated (gating passage through the river) bridges. These things could be incorperated into brick (or stone) walls, allowing a cities to claim, protect and defend water based resources (sand, clay & water).
