The world I love The tears I drop To be part of The wave can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you
The world I love The trains I hop To be part of The wave can't stop
Come and tell me when it's time to

they dont actually need any of that except maybe the purse (if it is equipment)

Jackard wrote:Item stacking is basically just the same as containers except being more flexible - they don't require that you find recipes then build them, they dont force you to carry them and have empty ones clogging up your inventory/storage, and they can also be used for a lot more stuff. (Keyrings? Pff. Just stack keys!)

Well, actually, there are a few problems with it that aren't entirely easy to solve. The hardest problem is that of the seedbags being usable remotely (which would have a much larger impact, obviously, with such things as keyrings), but there is also the matter of autofinding items in nested inventories (which would be allmost required functionality for keyrings) and of proper transfer of items (so that shiftclicking a seed in a seedbag doesn't just transfer it right back into the seedbag).

for keyrings, could you make the keys "equip" to the ring, and possibly make the keyring "equip" to a belt, in a manner similar to the way that fishing rods are currently? and you could "unequip" the keys from the keyring, i guess, if you needed to take one off to make a copy. making belts able to have items "equip" to them would allow you to add coin purses or other little containers that wouldn't have the problem of the seedbags. not sure how that would effect the autofinding of keys or coins but i think having the "containers" for those things behave a little differently than a standard container might help.

Yeah, I know. It should be easy to fix, but the player speed control is a system that has evolved in an unhealthy manner. I've been at it several times to add the speed reset feature, but I am disgusted each time and remind myself that I need to rewrite that turd before I do anything with it, and then I leave that for a later time. :)
